Chinan is an original character created for Legendary Guardian and has no basis in cannon from Square Soft in Final Fantasy X. He appears in only one chapter of LG but is part of an ongoing revelation/unfolding regarding a crucial situation in Auron's life. Auron, when meeting Braska for the first time, is struck by a strange sensation and a need to know more about the priest that borders on the obsessive. This condition is known as The Call of Guardianship (also without basis in Square Cannon and completely created by myself for this group of fiction works). Since most who receive "The Call" experience it in the presence of any Summoner, Auron's lack of reaction when meeting Chinan causes the young warrior no end of confusion and puts into question the idea that he might have "The Call" in the first place. Chinan is described as being about five feet four inches tall, with short blond hair, nut brown skin, and impossibly white teeth. While no indication is given regarding his eye color, I viewed Chinan as having cat-like hazel eyes that bordered toward yellow. He was intended to be twenty eight and from the Island of Kilika. He is seen in the company of his Guardian, Duras, on the last leg of the pilgrimage. While it is certain that he does not make it to the Ebon Dome, it is open to question how far he and Duras get before their Journey ends. |
