Farrell is an original character created for Legendary Guardian and has no basis in cannon from Square Soft in Final Fantasy X.

The character of Farrell is designated as "First of Bevelle." Within LG, a complex military, religious, and social hierarchy exists - radiating outward from the seat of the Church of Yevon and into the world of Spira. As "First," Farrell is only two steps removed from the highest seat of power in Spira and is considered to share sole military discretion over all warrior monks, crusaders, and chocobo knights. In time, I'll post a flow cart of the church hierarchy and the military designations for each of the branches of service. Until then, you can think of Farrell like this:
* Grand Maester Mika is the head of the Church of Yevon and leads the Council of Maesters.
* Maester Umaro (and later his replacements; Maester Sehgal and Maester Kinoc) leads the military branch of the Church and represents this faction in the Council of Maesters. Think of him as the equivalent to the US Secretary of Defense.
* The First of Bevelle is always selected from the ranks of Warrior Monks. He is the equivalent to the US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
In other words, Farrell is a powerful man. He's worked his way through the ranks, is a military strategist, a career warrior monk, and has seen plenty of action.

Though he rarely goes on military maneuvers in his current position, Farrell is a highly skilled soldier. His preference is the sword but, like all warrior monks in LG's Spira has been trained to use a variety of weapons and has some magical skills at his disposal. At the time of LG's start, Farrell is fifty-three. He is a brunette standing about six feet tall and has violet eyes. I thought of Farrell as having been born and raised in Bevelle - giving he and his family plenty of time to create the political connections necessary to raise him to such a high rank in the church.
