Graav is a side character created by Square Soft for the game Final Fantasy X.He has a small spoken role in the game as a team leader for the Luca Goers Blitzball Team. He is, like all members of the Goers team, a bit of a show off and rather cocky. You can recruit Graav to play on your Blitz team if you choose to play much of that minigame during game play.

Within the context of Legendary Guardian, the name Graav is used for two different characters. Auron's childhood friend, Sam, is the youngest son in a family of four boys born to a famous Blitz Star in Luca named Graav. Later, when Auron's friend Calli marries one of Sam's brothers, Thuma, they name their first son after the grandfather.

While this explanation of the history of the Square created character of Graav has no basis in cannon, I chose this as a way of integrating a cannon side character into my story. I felt it would give LG greater depth and allow it to fit seamlessly into the complex world that Square created.
