Lulu is a creation of Square Soft, and is a central playable character to the story line of the game Final Fantasy X. She only appears briefly in Braska's Journey and Bonds of Love . In both, Lulu is a youngster on the island of Besaid that catches Braska's attention. Her official character description by the company reads:

Female - Age 22. One of Yuna's guardians, along with Wakka and Kimahri. She thinks of Yuna as a younger sister. Her stoic and composed personality can make her seem aloof at times. Her specialty is black magic.

Lulu, as a black magic user, has framiliars. These small plush creatures come in a varity of forms including moogles, mogs, cait siths, cactuar, and others. While they look like toys, the things do quite a lot of damage. They copy Lulu's actions when she casts spells and thereby augment her abilities or boost her powers or can be set to ground to make their own attacks.

When Kimahri brings Yuna to Besaid, Lulu, Wakka, and Wakka's brother, Chappu, befriend the young orphan. During the course of the game, back story about Lulu's romance with Chappu - and the young man's subsequent death - come to light. Additionally, it is revealed that Lulu participated as a guardian in Pilgrimages with two previous summoners. A young woman and a priest.

Lulu acts as both big sister figure and mother hen to Yuna, protecting her and comforting her in times of trouble. She is the "responsible one" and the most experienced until Auron joins the pilgrimage. If she met Auron when Braska came to Besaid is unclear during the game, but Journey tells it's own tale...
