Grand Maester Mika is character created by Square Soft for the game Final Fantasy X. Though a side character, he appears several times in the game and is a catalyst for several plot points. Square literature indicates that he was ninty-nine during gameplay. He is a motivational character in Legendary Guardian, and also appears in Braska's Journey.

As longtime leader of the Church of Yevon, Grand Maester Mika is a well known figure throughout Spira. At the time of game start, the followers of Yevon are holding a Blitzball tournament to celebrate his 50th year in office. He, along with three other Maesters, runs the Church and administers the Temples.

While Mika generally plays little role other than that of political foil within my stories, an account of his rise to power may be found in one of the "Maechen White Papers" called "The Church of Yevon: A Brief Developmental History." While the details of Mika's rise to power in the church are not given by Square, the dates of his ascendency are easily determined and I have done my best to ensure that the timeline stays true to Square's intent.

It is unclear if Mika rose through the ranks of the military or the priesthood to attain the position of Grand Maester. In the context of my stories I made the decision, therefore, to make Mika a pure cleric. As a result, I have assigned him no weapons skills. However, in addition to white magic abilities I have also devised a set of magic skills specifically for high level priest caste in the Church. These skills are NOT part of the game but do come into play at various points in the stories and Mika is given the benefit of their use.
