Sam is an original character created for Legendary Guardian and has no basis in cannon from Square Soft in Final Fantasy X. He is one of Auron's close friends during his years as a temple dedicated and their friendship continues after they become Warrior Monks.

The same age as Auron, Kinoc, and Tacat; Sam is the least talented of the four. He comes from a long line of professional blitz players and is the "odd man out" when he goes home to Luca. His father, Graav, was a star player for the Luca Goers in his day and retired to a life of private coaching and scouting. All of Sam's brothers followed in their father's footsteps. Sam, however, was shipped off to temple for an education when is mother died giving birth to him early. As a result, the young man has little in common with the rest of his family.

His friendship with Auron, which begins slowly, grows over time into a bond as close as brotherhood. When a training incident their last year at temple pits Sam and Auron against one another it only serves to strengthen their friendship. Sam is a critical part of Auron's life - light hearted and easy going; the perfect lift for Auron's serious nature.

As a trained Warrior Monk, Sam has skills similar to Auron. His weapon of choice is a katana but he also is skilled with a crossbow. He has very little magical talent but can cast a low level cure spell if requred. Sam's great ability is tactics - learned from years of blitz strategy floating around his house. He is also fond of children and a wonderful teacher.
